The Pinot Noir grapes are harvested late September once they are perfectly ripe. The grapes are destemmed before being placed in vats for a maceration period of 10 to 15 days. The wine is partially matured in 225 litre barrels for several months to give it an aromatic complexity whilst retaining the fruitiness and elegance of this grape variety. This wine reveals aromas of fresh fruit such as Morello cherry, wild raspberry and spices. On the palate the full texture is velvety with silky tannins, and an elegant, well balanced finish. The original bottle, with its rose shaped base. Cote des roses is a wine to give in the same as a bunch of roses!
